Cornflower water

This hydrosol is  used in facial care to refresh dry, irritated and devitalized skin. It decongests and softens eyes tired from working on the screen, soothes conjunctivitis. It treats rosacea. In case of hot flashes, it can be taken orally, associated with hydrolates of clary sage and peppermint (1 tablespoon of each in a liter of water, to drink during the day).

A hydrosol is distilled water obtained like essential oils, by distillation in a still. It is a by-product of the distillation, recovered at the exit of the still, loaded with active molecules of the plant which has been distilled to extract its essential oil.

It can be used in different ways:

-in cosmetics, such as toning and cleansing lotion or as a base for making homemade cosmetics.

-in cooking, to flavor a water or a cocktail

-in hydrolatherapy, orally (between 1 and 4 teaspoons per day, pure or to be diluted in water) or by the dermal route (in spray, in the bath, in application). It is suitable for children because it is less concentrated in active molecules (less aggressive than essential oil).
