Once upon a time Jicqy...

-

Jicqy les mirettes is hiding a designer with a romantic soul. Olivia Phélip likes to hunt for the materials of her creations in the flea markets of the world, with the passion of a collector. She takes things from another time and piles them in her workshop like treasures. They find a second life of retro glamor as you wear them and they become you. Olivia practices the magic of transformation, rerouting and repurposing with buttons, bows. Through her work she creates a universe that once belonged to others but now to her and soon to you. Juggling, she appropriates the elegance of the roaring twenties and throws it into the sky of her vagabond life.

-

It is in her grandmother Jacqueline’s attic that Olivia made her most beautiful finds : dancing shoes, sewing needles, prewar thimbles, a collection of old laces. One day, Jacqueline departed and treasuring the souvenirs of her secret adventures, Jicqy was born. The name pays tribute to her. “Jacqueline has beautiful eyes”, they said long ago, and called her Jicqy les mirettes. The brand sets up her workshop in the studio flat of its fairy. The shoes found a place, hung up to the wall like an amulet. The laces inspired the first collection..

French label for man and woman accesories, Jicqy les Mirettes invites you to reinvent your personal style. It captures the spirit of a poetic approach to accessories and abandon your uniform. Jicqy les Mirettes opens a window into another world which travels back in time.

-

Discrete, off-beat, original, nonchalant Jicqy accessories are about a new boldness—the audacity of the free spirit. Theaccessories exude the beauty of the materials from which they are made: recycled vintage buttons, ceramic beads, seeds from the Amazon, vintage couture fabrics, vintage leather, scraps of ancient kimonos. Elegant, distinctive, these are materials found in the attic, in the world’s flea markets, off the beaten path – and each unique item has its own history.

Each accessory has a personality of its own. The bow tie wants to be versatile --worn around the neck or as an accent in your hair, your coat, or your hat. It glides from one universe to another in your wardrobe. Reversible pocket squares and ties lined with a surprise. The fabrics give each piece a double personality, bringing out different sides of your style while staying true to yourself. Headbands and bracelets decorate your hair and wrists; earrings and necklaces frame your face with subtle elegance. Silk flowers -daisies, violets, buttercups - can be worn fastened as a brooch or appearing in your hair for a romantic spring dream.

-

Jicqy les mirettes presents the values and authenticity of artisans. Here a lost tradition is found, the tradition of exceptional products. Each piece is entirely hand-made with love and precision, in limited quantities in a small parisian workshop. The production is local and the use of recycled materials celebrates a new economy of beauty, finding value in what might have been lost.

The Jicqy man can be Axel, Victor, Antonio, or you.
He has a sense of humor, he is curious, elegant, attentive to his style, but not overly so. He likes to push the envelope of fashion and play on his own field of personal expression. He wants to distinguish himself but is not a peacock. With his accessories he makes peace with the rules of a suit. The Jicqy man is not afraid of color or pattern. Stepping across a tender line, the rebellious style of the accessory removes the dust that has settled over the work-a-day, utilitarian masculine wardrobe.

-

The Jicqy woman is sure of her femininity. She is happy to decorate herself, free, confident, adventurous. She ignores conventions and sees the world as her oyster. Like Norma Jean or Frida, she is a muse and a warrior, fragile, stubborn, enchanting. The clothes she wears provoke, and the eye drawn to her accessory escapes
